Great Glen Trails named among Top 10 Cross Country Resorts in North America
North Conway, NH – Since 2016, North Conway has been nominated by a group of travel experts to the list of top ski towns in North America in USA Today’s /10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. Voting has taken place over the past month and the winners were revealed today. Once again, for the fourth year in a row, North Conway has landed a position among the top three ski towns in North America, according to voters. North Conway, NH was named the #2 Best Ski Town in North America, right behind Bethel, Maine.
For the first time ever, three of Mt Washington Valley’s XC Centers were nominated to 10Best’s Best Cross Country Resorts Readers’ Choice Awards 2019 voting list of 20 Nordic Centers, showing clearly that Mt Washington Valley is a favorite among skiers, snowshoers and winter enthusiasts. Jackson XC, Bretton Woods Nordic Center and Great Glen Trails were all nominated. After voting ended, 10Best Announced that Great Glen Trails made it to the list of 10Best Cross Country Ski Resorts.
“North Conway held the number-one position for the Best Ski Town throughout most of the voting period,” said Janice Crawford, Executive Director of the Mt Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce. who followed the leader board throughout the month-long voting period. “Yet, in the end Bethel, Maine got out the vote and inched over North Conway to win the number one spot,” observed Janice Crawford. “We congratulate our neighboring ski town in Maine and are delighted to see two nearby Northern New England ski towns take the #1 and #2 honors in the esteemed USA Today/10 Best list. Bethel and North Conway were the only ski towns in the Northeast to make the top six cut. We think that speaks volumes for the town’s appeal,” finished Crawford. “In addition, we’re thrilled to learn that Great Glen Trails made it to the 10Best Cross Country Resorts list for the first year and was the only Nordic Center in the Northeast to make the list,” added Crawford.
“Since this nomination was carefully made by an expert panel, and the public voted for this honor, you have earned some serious bragging rights!” wrote the Editors from USA Today/10 Best who shared the news with the chamber.
