Decades of local weather data show clear trends of declining snowpack, warming winter air temperatures, increases in annual precipitation, and increases in large rain events. How are these current climate trends, which are expected to continue, affecting outdoor recreation and the growing outdoor recreation economy in the Mount Washington Valley? How are trails and trail infrastructure being affected and how are user groups and land managers mitigating the challenges of climate change? Join this forum for a discussion with ecologists, climate scientists, local business owners, and user groups about the local impacts of climate change and what actions we can all take.

A weekly trail race series for all abilities and ages. Every Thursday for eight weeks racers can run or walk the long, short or mini courses between 3:30 and 7:00 p.m. Placement awards in each category. Competitors who complete 6 out of 8 weeks are eligible for the prize raffle at the end of series awards party.

Course Lengths:
Long: 3.7 Miles
Short: 2.5 Miles
Mini: 1 Mile

One of the oldest mountain races in the Northeast, the Cranmore Mountain Race gives runners of all experience levels the thrill of racing up and down the ski trails of Cranmore Mountain. The race has played host to 5 National Mountain Running Champions but is not in any way just for experienced mountain runners. Competitors range in ages from 10 - 80. The race is part of the USATF New England Mountain Running Circuit, the oldest mountain running circuit in the country. The race donates a portion of proceeds to North Country Cares.

White Mountain Oil & Propane is well known for our famous "Open House and Bratwurst Broil" held every June at our North Main Street, North Conway store. We had held various open houses and cookouts over the history of the company but have produced the "Bratwurst Broil" for 38 consecutive years on a Friday in June.

Our 2020 Bratwurst Broil and Open-House will take place on Friday, June 12th this year and we are hoping to experience (our usual) very little rain that day. Open House is from 10:00-4:00 but the grills will be going from 11:00-2:00 pm only. There will be door prizes and other giveaways!

There's A Black Fly In My Eye! Trail Race and Relay

Immerse yourself in extraordinary views of the Great Gulf Wilderness at the base of Mount Washington while you make your way through the beautiful trails at the Glen in a race that's 100% New Hampshire.

10 mile (15k) course: Tackle single track, muddy bogs, carriage roads, and a river crossing in this course made up of three loops run in sequential order. Challenge yourself to run it as an individual, or run with a team of three (each to run one loop)! 10am mass start. 

  • Loop 1: the North Loop is winding and rolling carriage roads with some forest single track 
  • Loop 2: the Aquaduct Loop is the most rugged of the loops. This loop has a rocky trail surface with stream crossings and boggy sections, a real test for your water proof running shoes!
  • Loop 3: the West Loop consists of carriage roads, single track and a river crossing.


3 mile (5k) course:
 Run the first loop of the longer course to experience the ups and downs, twists and turns and single track in a bite-sized distance! For trail running novices and experienced runners alike. 10am mass start.

The Eagle Mountain House & Golf Club is partnering with the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce for a fun-filled Helicopter Golf Ball Drop.  You can purchase your numbered Golf Ball Ticket which corresponds to a numbered Golf Ball dropped from the helicopter for $20 per ball.  First Ball in the hole or closest ball to the hole will win $1,000 cash prize for the ticket holder.  There will be 40-plus other prizes given out for top closest balls to the hole.  The furthest ball (found) away from the hole will win a prize package valued at more than $300. 

Ticket holders will enjoy special Eagle Mountain House & Golf Club Tavern rates and special golf green fees for June 28th, 2020 of only $15… just show your Golf Ball Drop ticket.  Under the Eagle’s Tent there will be live entertainment offered by local favorite Al Shafner & the Rev Tones, from 11:00 – 2:00 PM.  There will also be a Cash Bar and Light Refreshments under the tent priced accordingly.  You will need a Golf Ball Drop Ticket for entrance to the Tent. 

The helicopter will release the balls at 2:00 PM over the Eagle’s DrivingRange.  Ticket holders are welcome to walk down to a specified area to watch this process or view it from a live feed under the tent.  

A portion of the proceeds will go directly to Jen’s Friends Cancer Foundation… the 2020 Conway Daily Sun "BEST OF 2020" Mt Washington Valley Best Local Charitable Organization.

Join Jackson Village as they light up the sky in celebration of the upcoming Independence Day Celebration.  Jackson has a reputation of putting on the best area display of fireworks for many years.  We want to thank all our sponsors of these great fireworks starting with the Town of Jackson Selectmen, Jackson Fire Department, Jackson Police, Lisa Gardner Author and friend, the Karlsson family, and many more.  

For best viewing grab a seat on the southside lawn of the Snowlflake Inn (thanks to Gary & Sue for their invitation)... just please be sure where ever you watch our display please carry out what you carried in!  

Haven't seen it yet but I hear the display can be seen from the Jackson Falls area.  Check it all out on Sunday, June 28, 2020!  

Fireworks usually go off around 9 PM... depending upon weather and other factors it could be closer to 9:15 PM.
