Plein AIr Painting w/ David Lussier

Jackson Art Studio
Ridge Rd
Jackson NH 03846

Join award winning artist, David Lussier for this three day workshop. The White Mountains offer up some of the most spectacular and breathtaking landscape in New England. David will begin each day with a one hour demonstration and discussion of his working methods. In an orderly step by step process, he will show you how I simplify shapes, color and value to achieve a successful painting. He will share his knowledge of how colors and values need to be altered in order that they recede into the distance and breathe a sense of light and atmosphere into the work. This is an important lesson, especially when viewing mountain scenes where there is a vast amount of space between foreground and background. He will offer individual help to each student towards a successful painting each day. This class will get you to the next level in your painting ability. All levels welcome.
Sept 4-6 (3 day class)  9am- 4pm,  $425  Class size is limited to 10 students to allow for social distancing and lots of personal attention. (please bring a mask)

Creative Writing: Inside there are Secrets & Surprises

Castle in the Clouds

586 Ossipee Park Rd.

Moultonborough, NH 03254

Wednesday, July 22
Wednesday, September 16

$15 per person

Given current circumstances, events and programs are subject to change and cancellation. We highly recommend checking this program on our website for the latest information, and registering for events ahead of time on our website as space is limited for most programs.

Within each person, there are memories, stories, and insights longing to surface in a creative way. We will use prompts from nature, poetry, art, and music to unearth and help them find their way out and inspire creative writing. This writing experience is not an examination of how to write a memoir; rather, it is an exploration of ways to stir memory and niggle the creative urge to express oneself through creative writing. This workshop involves minimal walking on Castle grounds.

No writing experience is necessary, but a willingness to play and explore is. We will use Castle grounds, both inside and outside, so please bring a small note pad and pencil. It would be best to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. You might consider bringing a hat, bug repellent, and a small cushion to sit on.
