Laura Foundation for Autism and Epilepsy

The mission of The Laura Foundation is to provide funding to develop and support therapeutic recreation and educational programs that enrich the quality of lives of individuals with autism and/or seizure disorders.

The Laura Foundation is currently raising funds to build an adaptive sports and recreation center in the Mount Washington Valley.
Once complete, individuals living with disabilities in Maine and New Hampshire will have access to such things as social skills groups, indoor rock climbing, several days of horseback riding each week (during the warm weather months) and cross country skiing in the winter. As of September 2011, a septic system has been put in, and we are currently in the process of winterizing and expanding on the existing building. Our next project will be the building of a barn (with a goal to be done before the summer of 2012). From there, a multipurpose court and a playground will be built. Finally, the property's existing botanical area, complete with a greenhouse, will be improved upon to offer therapeutic gardening.
