to Hold Joint Annual Meeting October 22nd
Over 250 business leaders expected to assemble at the
Red Jacket Mountain View Resort for a night of reflection, discussion, and recognition.
NORTH CONWAY -- The Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce (MWVCC) and the Mt. Washington Valley Economic Council (MWVEC) are inviting their members and guests to join them for their "Joint Annual Meeting, Dinner and Awards Ceremony" to will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the Red Jacket Mountain View Resort, Spa & Water Park in North Conway.
Both the MWVCC and the MWVEC recognize the challenging economy and wish to do their part wherever possible to alleviate expenses for their members. It was with this in mind, that the decision was made to hold a joint event to lessen the expense for those individuals who traditionally attend both events. The Joint Annual Meeting, Dinner and Awards Ceremony serves to bring together over 250 leaders and members of both the MWVCC and MWVEC to reflect on issues that shaped the year, highlight the accomplishments and discuss upcoming priorities.
At the dinner portion of the event, the Chamber with sponsorship from Woodland's Credit Union, will salute ‘White Mountains Treasures' who have made significant contributions to the Mt. Washington Valley. This years recipients of the ‘White Mountains Treasure's Award' are Bernadine ‘Benny' Jesseman and Bobbi Steele-Marotta. The MWVEC will present their ‘Bob Morrell Award,' established in honor of the late Bob Morrell, to Terry O'Brien of the Red Parka Steakhouse & Pub in addition to announcing the recipients of their ‘Board Member of the Year' and ‘Volunteer of the Year' awards.
Individuals are encouraged to attend the meeting or purchase a congratulatory ad to show their support of this year's award winners. Ad space is available in this year's Annual Meeting program for those wishing to target area business leaders and professionals. The MWV Chamber of Commerce will be holding a silent auction during the evening with opportunities for attendees to bid on great items such as a helicopter ride over the Mt. Washington Valley, a Cape Ann vacation package including a wale watching tour, ski passes, art, show tickets and more. In addition to the silent auction, the Framed Art Superstore has donated a giant canvas artwork to support of the MWV Chamber of Commerce and the North Conway Village Association. Tickets for the raffle are $5 each or 5 for $20 and are on sale now at Salvatore Michaels Framed Art Superstore in North Conway Village. The drawing for this artwork will be held at the Annual Dinner and ticket holders do not need to be present to win.
