2nd Annual Tamworth Street Fair

The Tamworth  Economic Development Commission is hosting the 2nd Annual Tamworth Street Fair on Main Street, Saturday, August 5th from 9a.m.-1p.m.

Last year's fair, to celebrate Tamworth's 250th year, was a great success thanks to over 50 business participants, generous sponsors and many, many supporting visitors. We're hoping to continue this success and invite you to be a part of this community wide event! Wonderful Sponsors this year are The Barnstormers Theatre in Historic Tamworth Village.... Delighting Audiences with Professional Summer Theatre Since 1931; The Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm, open year round with seasonal activities, workshops, farm-to-table gatherings, and chores and tours for all ages; The Chocorua Lake Conservancy, a volunteer-led Land Trust protecting the natural resources of the Chocorua Lake area, and encouraging and providing public access to Chocorua Lake and surrounding lands and trails; and the award winning Preserve at Chocorua, a beautiful location for destination weddings and special events with lodging for up to 52 attendees.

Follow the red balloons and you will discover vendor booths lining most of Main Street, beginning at the famous Farmers Market and continuing all the way to Remick Museum & Farm.

Booths will be a mix of Tamworth businesses, entrepreneurs, non-profit groups and service based organizations. Key areas throughout the village will feature children's games, food vendors, a fire truck, lively music at the Lyceum, The Tamworth Village Hand Crafters (at the Town House), a flea market,  and exciting entertainment by the internationally known YoYo People at 11 AM in front of Cook Library with a YoYo forum to follow! Our village businesses will also be open selling a variety of goods and offering special promotions. Magic 104 Radio Station will be broadcasting live from the event as well!

Much of Main Street will be closed from 9-1 but directed routes to special nearby parking areas will easily accommodate our many visitors.

The goal of the fair is to support and advertise the variety of businesses Tamworth has to offer. We invite Tamworthians to participate by showcasing their goods and/or services and we will provide a 10'x10' space at no charge. This is your chance to advertise your business so be sure to bring promotional materials, donation/volunteer information, goods to sell and any other helpful tools to promote your business. Space is available on a first come-first serve basis so don't delay in reserving your spot!

If you're interested in reserving a space or would like more information, contact Erica Boynton at 603.254.8672 or send an email to ericalboynton@gmail.com or to Pat Farley at farleygroup@msn.com. Please share this news with fellow Tamworth businesses who might like to be a part of this major event.    Hoping to see you all on August 5th!

Mystery Book Club

Mystery Book Club

White Birch Books Mystery Book Club

The Mystery Book Club meets at White Birch Books on the second Thursday of every month. A small group, discussion books range from historical mysteries to contemporary thrillers. Books are usually picked a couple months in advance, but sometimes the group goes crazy and lines up books for several months. As with all of our groups, the Mystery Book Club is open to anyone interested and can be a great place to meet fellow readers. We’ve seen wonderful friendships form and grow while discussing murder and mayhem – as it should be.

This production is directed by Richard Russo.

The Papermaker is presented Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays August 25 - September 9 at Your Theatre, Willow Common, 1857 White Mountain Highway, North Conway.  All performances begin at 7:30 PM

Here's what reviewers elsewhere have said about The Papermaker:  "The two-act play is not a political diatribe but an examination of society then and now.
