7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Phil Franklin will present a history of St. Joseph Church, Bartlett, with information starting in 1888 and ending with present day happenings.  St. Joseph's was the first Catholic Church in the Mt. Washington Valley and served the spiritual needs of Catholics from Bartlett and many surrounding towns.  In danger of being demolished, the Bartlett Historical Society stepped in and is working to save this historic building.  The building is listed on the State Register of Historic Places and received the 2017 Seven to Save designation by the NH Preservation Alliance.  Phil's presentation will cover the initial ideas and construction of the church, events over its 128 year history and more recent activities to save the building from demolition.  Please join us for this informative presentation on a unique aspect of Bartlett's history.  The event is open to the public; a donation to BHS is appreciated at the door.
