Bradley Backstage: Mr. Gus & Blue BusLeura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center
Hop on the bus, Gus! Award-winning honky-tonk bluesman Erik Ray Gustafson (aka Mr. Gus) is teaming up with local folk/rock/bluegrass/reggae/funk band Blue Bus for a very special Bradley Backstage show at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center at 7:30 pm. Blue Bus, who get their name from their rehearsal space on a remodeled blue bus, will recreate an "evening on the bus" in the LHE/PAC's alternative performing space. Over the last 30 years as a professional musician, "Mr. Gus" has established himself as somewhat of a musical anomaly. He plays the guitar, mandolin, harmonica, cajon, hi-hat, upright bass, and accordion—mostly simultaneously. Although he usually advertises his music as honky-tonk blues, it really encompasses many more genres including old country, 1960s rock, jump and swing, jazz, folk, and polka. Bradley Backstage concerts "flip" the theater and seat the audience on stage with the performers, creating a much more intimate and unforgettable live concert experience. Ticket proceeds will benefit the Fryeburg Academy Music Department.
