When the lifts close, the apres ski fun begins. For some, it lasts well into the night. March 12: 15th Annual 100,000 Vertical Foot Challenge: The Wildcat Mountain 100,000 Vertical Foot Challenge is a non-race event offering the chance for a limited capacity field of participants the opportunity to ski or ride 100,000 vertical feet in a single day. Total funds raised from the previous 14 years of the event have reached over $921,000 directly benefiting Make-A-Wish® New Hampshire and their endeavors. The goal this year, in the 15th year of the event is to reach and surpass $1 million in total dollars raised! Participants are required to raise a minimum of $250 for Make-A-Wish New Hampshire. Donated prizes from event sponsors will be awarded for the top fundraisers and additional prizes will be won in a bib draw raffle. Refreshments and snacks will be provided to help keep challengers going throughout the day. here is a 9-hour window, weather and conditions permitting, to complete the 100K, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (unless all participants still entered complete the 100K prior to 4:30 p.m. $75 registration fee. March 16: Red Parka Challenge Cup: The Red Parka Pub Challenge Cup is the longest-running, pro-style dual giant slalom ski race in the United States. Considered the premier New England Amateur ski race, the RPP Challenge Cup attracts some of the best racers in the region. All proceeds from the race benefit the Eastern Slopes Ski Club, a local organization that funds youth skiing in the Mt. Washington Valley. The Red Parka Pub Challenge Cup stems from the Red Parka Pub, located in Downtown Glen, New Hampshire. March 17: Attitash After Dark with Adam Ezra Group: It starts with fireworks at 7:00pm, then festivities continue with a special pub menu and the Adam Ezra Group at Ptarmigan Pub for evening entertainment.

March 10, 17 Cranapalooza: Enjoy apres ski music, entertainment and games hosted by none other than North Conway’s favorite penguin, C-More. On March 10, Cranapalooza celebration is topped off with fireworks too!
March 9: Schneider Sprint: New in 2018, this is a timed up and down ski touring race, open to racers of all ages and ability levels. Sponsored by Eastern Mountain Sports of North Conway and Ski the Whites, this unique race will start in front of Zip’s Pub deck, where racers will complete a short obstacle course before heading into a transitioning area to gear up, then ascend to the top of Cranmore’s Competition Slope, and ski down a predetermined course, concluding at the bottom of the North Slope. Registration is $25 and includes an exclusive Meister Cup pin and pasta dinner and awards. Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers. EMS will provide alpine touring demo equipment from Dynafit, G3, Black Diamond and K2 for those who need it, included with registration. March 10- 11: 22nd Hannes Schneider Meisiter Cup at Cranmore: Honoring the founding father of ski instruction, Austrian Hannes Schneider, who brought his world-renowned skills to North Conway and Mt. Cranmore in 1939, this is a fan favorite. The event kicks off Friday night with a Tyrolean-themed dinner, EMS Twilight Skinning Tour & a torchlight parade. Saturday, the celebration of ski school founder Hannes Schneider’s arrival at the mountain continues with a dual giant slalom race, silent auction, vintage skiwear contest, après entertainment, prizes, music and more.
March 10-11: Military Weekend at Cranmore: During Cranmore’s historic Hannes Schneider Meister Cup, March 10th & 11th, Cranmore will offer free lift tickets for active duty, veteran and retired servicemen and women. Card carrying dependents will receive $15 off a lift ticket.
March 17: St Paddy’s Day ticket special: On St. Patrick’s Day, the resort will offer a $17 twilight lift ticket, valid for skiing from 5pm to 8pm or a $17 Tubing and Mountain Adventure Park ticket, during the hours of 5pm to 8pm.

March 10, 17: Adult Apres Ski Party, 3:00-5:50pm: When you’re finished with a great day on the trails, head to the 3rd floor and listen to some après ski entertainment. Try a new brew at Slopeside Pub located on the 3rd level of the Bretton Woods Base Lodge. Entertainment will be from 3:00pm-5:30pm and Bar Promos are from 3:00pm-5:00pm.

March 3, 10: Kids Apres Ski Party: 3:30-5:00pm: Kids ages 4-12 are welcome to join in this special supervised après ski fun upstairs in the Mount Washington View Room, located on the Heaven Level of the Bretton Woods Base Lodge. Special après parties are scheduled on most Saturday’s throughout the year and during vacation and holiday periods. Each party will include live entertainment, games, activities, and refreshments for kids. Parents are welcome to leave their kids at this supervised program and enjoy entertainment at the Slopeside Lounge. Reservations are not required for this complimentary program. March 11: 18th Annual Marky B Boardfest: This annual snowboard race in memory of Mark Bierweiler is the most unique snowboard-only event in the region… a slalom race through a course with hits, rolls and jumps! Funds generated from the race will aid and further supporting the snowboard programs at King Pine. March 16-17: Cynthia’s Challenge 24-hour Skiathon: Cynthia’s Challenge is excited to announce the next beneficiary of the 24-Hour Ski-A-Thon to be held at King Pine Ski Area in East Madison, New Hampshire March 16-17, 2018. All funds raised with this year’s event will benefit Freedom, New Hampshire’s Jacques Villeneuve, a 9-year-old boy who was born missing the main wiring between the left and right hemispheres of his brain, Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum. The minimum requirement is $99 for ages 6 and above and 5 and under are $50. Registration includes a 24-hour lift ticket, t-shirt, dinner, breakfast, and lunch, snacks and memories to last a lifetime of skiing and riding as the sun comes up over King Pine. One raffle ticket will be awarded to participants for every $50 raised above their registration fee. These special raffle tickets will be used for participants to win a grand prize package. March 17: Vertical Challenge: A fun and exciting ski and snowboard race where the racer who clocks the best time in each event category wins Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals. Winners from individual events are invited to return and compete in the Series Finals. The races are FREE, but you must purchase a lift ticket to participate. March 10: 2nd Annual Winter Charity Day: Make a minimum donation of $25 per person ($15 ages 5-12) to the charity of your choice and enjoy free skiing, tubing, snowshoeing and a buffet lunch (11:30 am – 1:00 pm). Kids under 5 participate free with each donating adult. Sundays through March: Sunday Snowshoe Yoga Tours: The MWV Ski Touring and Snowshoe Center has added a new offering on Sundays. Every Sunday morning (except 2/25) plan to combine yoga and mindfulness in the spectacular setting of the mountains. The tour begins with some warm-up stretches, preparing for a beautiful snowshoe walk in the woods. Taking the trail at an easy pace, make your way to an open spot to pause for some yoga practice. After the snowshoe walk, end the tour with a few easy stretches. The tour departs every Sunday (weather permitting) from the MWV Touring Center at 10:00 am. Ideal for first-timers and novices interested in learning basic techniques. $25 per person includes trail pass for the day. Discounted rentals available.

March 17: Baxter Outdoors White Mountain Winter Triathlon & 5K Snowshoe Run: Originally scheduled for Jan 6 this race was rescheduled to Sat Mar 17. This professionally designed course has its fair share of ups and downs but those are ultimately overshadowed by sweeping views of the White Mountains and presence in this truly special New England Ski Town. March 16: Twisted Pine Band at Stone Mountain Arts Center: Full of energy and surprise, wit and subtlety, Twisted Pine has quickly become one of the most acclaimed young string bands in the Northeast.
